The floor to ceiling refurbishment includes new flooring, tables, chairs, blinds, redecoration, and the installation of new touch screen technology. The project is on track to be completed in August 2025.
We were delighted that in Autumn 2024 we completed a large-scale project to extend and resurface our netball and tennis courts giving our students access to a fantastic new sports resource. It has been great to watch the WHS girls in action against our local and national rivals in the various District and National Netball competitions and to see the fantastic success of our U14 netball team who made it to the national finals! We’re looking forward to the tennis season throughout the summer term!
The netball and tennis courts were officially opened in July 2025 by NSL and England netballer Frankie Wells.
We are also delighted that the local community are benefitting from this first-rate resource with England Netball Super League team London Mavericks hosting their summer training camp at WHS.
Generous support from PAFA, our Parent and Friend Association, enabled the refurbishment of 3 student toilet facilities in the Downs and Christie buildings.
In August 2022, we completed a major project to install new fire doors to the Downs, Christie, Miller and Verney Buildings. An extension of the fire alarm system to cover all high-risk rooms was also completed. These important works also incorporated the LED installation of emergency lighting provisions and emergency escape signage within the Miller Building.
