Year 7

  • PSHEE Careers Focus Day - Living in the Wider World 
  • Introduction to research, questioning, the world of work and stereo types.
  • Inspire & Career Talk with WHS alumnae, alongside other inspiring women talking about their own career journey with a Q&A and networking option

Year 8

  • GCSE options presentation – subjects offered and how to make your GCSE decisions
  • GCSE Option Fair with subject leaders
  • 1:1 career interviews with external careers adviser (Adviza)
  • Careers guidance drop-in at break or lunch time 
  • PSHEE Career Focus Day - Living in the Wider World
  • Careers and transferable skills
  • Research, career plans and future aspirations
  • Personality profile and an assessment of strengths and interests
  • Local Labour Market (LMI) Information and an awareness of career opportunities
  • Personal finance and the importance of budgeting
  • Inspire & Career Talk with WHS alumnae, alongside other inspiring women talking about their own career journey with a Q&A and networking option

Year 9

  • PSHEE Career Focus Day - Living in the Wider World
  • Employment law, your rights and the national minimum wage
  • Career and qualification options with an introduction to apprenticeships, work experience and voluntary work
  • Organisation and study skills, individual learning styles and preferences
  • Research using careers library resources and careers software available at WHS
  • 1:1 career interviews with external careers adviser (Adviza)
  • Careers guidance drop-in at break or lunch time
