On 24 September 2026, Wycombe High School will celebrate a very special milestone: 125 years of pioneering education for girls. Spanning three centuries, Wycombe High is proud of its unique heritage and excited about what lies ahead, looking beyond today with a bold vision for the future in an increasingly technological and globalised world.
From our foundation in 1901, when our first Headteacher, Mary Christie, welcomed just 18 students, Wycombe High has led the way in providing opportunities that were ground-breaking for their time. Today, we proudly educate nearly 1,400 students, continuing with Miss Christie’s School Motto of Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter meaning bravely, faithfully and happily.
As part of WHS125, we invite you to explore our history through the Wycombe High School Online Archive. It’s full of fascinating stories, photographs, and documents from the past 125 years. You can access it here: Wycombe High School archive Catalogue You may recognise some of the faces!
We feel privileged to be part of this remarkable story and we see our 125th anniversary celebrations are a chance to bring our community together, students, parents, alumnae, and friends, to reflect on our past and look forward to an exciting future. We hope you’ll join us in making this year truly memorable.
There’s a full programme of events planned throughout 2026, please keep an eye on our website for details and ways to get involved.
