Gabby Logan, Tess Daly and Andy Collins help make HighQ instant success

Stars of television and radio have made Wycombe High’s new TV quiz show an instant hit, after it launched on the first Friday of the new lockdown.

Aimed to keep students interacting and connected outside of lessons, BBC Three Counties Radio presenter Andy Collins hosted the first – which included a recorded question from non other than Strictly host Tess Daly – with sports royalty Gabby Logan set to be asking the questions this week. Run through Zoom, the quiz saw 98 competing teams – each with a student team captain – aim to come out on top in a tussle of general knowledge questions and more quirky rounds such as a scavenger hunt.

“High-Q is an interactive livestream quiz that will go out every Friday night during the new lockdown, as a bit of fun for students to get together and stay connected,” said Headteacher Mrs Cromie. “The quiz will be the perfect antidote to some of the doom and gloom surrounding the pandemic. This is a great way of spreading a bit of joy, smiles and laughter, holding on to brighter thoughts and a reminder that there is light at the end of the tunnel.” In honour of host Gabby Logan, this week there will be bonus points for the best outfit that’s sporty, Welsh, Strictly… or all three!
