Wycombe High School students are celebrating this week after scooping six top prizes at this year’s prestigious Company of the Year awards for Young Enterprise.
The annual competition, held at Bucks New University, saw six schools from the area competing, with the participating students all having created a fully-fledged business – complete from concept to profitability.
Wycombe High’s ‘Crafted’ team, which produced and sold henna candles, decorated mirrors and other bespoke gift items, won four first place ‘Awards for Excellence’, for Marketing, Financial Management, Team Engagement and the Gold Environmental Award. They also won the award for the Best Company Report.
Meanwhile, the ‘EcoThreads’ team, which sold crafted gifts produced from recycled and sustainable materials, won the Excellence Awards for Manufacturing and Best Marketing and Trade Stand.
Despite the string of accolades for the two Wycombe High teams, the overall winner on the night was a team from Pipers Corner School.
Aaisha, in Year 12, said: “I’m so proud of what we all achieved. For Wycombe High students to win so many awards on the night means that all the months of hard work was worth it”.
Headteacher, Nicola Renyard, added: “Congratulations on these wonderful achievements to all the students involved”.
