VIDEO: Student filmmakers win top award

WATCH THE VIDEO: Five filmmakers from Wycombe High School have won a top award from the National Film and Television School. The team of five Year 12 students – Emma, Evie, Julia, Naomi and Martha – beat off nine other schools with their entry for this year’s ‘Access NFTS Commercials Challenge’.

The competing teams had to produce a 30-second commercial “promoting their school to prospective pupils and parents”. The judging panel, made up of TV and film industry experts, applauded the WHS entry for being “a completely delightful commercial. Great idea, good execution and a very strong feel-good factor”.

Ten teams entered the competition, which was organised jointly by the NFTS and Buckinghamshire Skills Hub. In second and third place were the Year 12 teams from Sir William Borlase’s School in Marlow and Bucks UTC in Aylesbury.
