What is life in the Wycombe High Sixth Form really like? Ahead of our ‘Into the Sixth’ Open Event, we decided to ask the people who know it best: our students.
In this week’s Head’s Up, Headteacher Mrs Renyard is joined by Year 13 students Abigail, Shalini and Emily for a conversation about their experiences of Sixth Form life.
Abigail and Shalini both joined Wycombe High at the start of Year 12, while Emily has been with us since Year 7, providing different perspectives on making the move into our Sixth Form.
They discuss settling in and making friends, the transition to A Levels, academic and pastoral support, greater independence, opportunities beyond the classroom and how the Sixth Form helps students prepare for life beyond Wycombe High.
It’s a chance to hear directly from our students about life in the Sixth Form that Ofsted described as a “beacon of excellence”.
Our ‘Into the Sixth’ Open Event takes place on Wednesday 14 October from 2.45pm. Current Year 11 students and their families are warmly invited to come along, meet our students and staff, explore the Sixth Form and discover the subjects and opportunities available.
