WHS Art Department creates ‘secret walls’ murals for students

If you saw Miss Nina Gadd painting the outside walls of the Art Department this week, don’t worry – it’s not because of any school spending cutbacks!

In fact, Wycombe High’s Art Department has created ‘secret walls’ style murals, inspired by the likes of the American artist Keith Haring and the British social media star, Mr Doodle.

Miss Gadd, who is the Subject Leader for Art at Wycombe High said: “This is an opportunity for students to get first-hand experience of how a real street artist would work on an outdoor piece.

“Students will be creating art works inspired by subjects they care about. As well as the outdoor murals, our Year 8 artists have also been using lining paper to design mural panels for the school’s corridors”.

The works will be completed by the end of term and will remain on display until the new Year 8s replace them, next year.
