Wycombe High School’s commitment to excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is showcased in this week’s special edition of Head’s Up!
Filmed in Lab M, Headteacher Mrs Nicola Renyard is joined by Director of Science Fallon Bayly, Subject Leader of Product Design Megan Knight and Mathematics Teacher Craig Cudmore to explore the strength and breadth of STEM across the school. The discussion highlights the rich opportunities available to students, the importance of cross-disciplinary learning and the school’s role in inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.
The programme also celebrates a significant student achievement, as Year 11 students Jerica and Taraniya have both been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. This nationally recognised award identifies and supports the UK’s most talented future engineers and is awarded following a highly competitive selection process involving application, examination and interview. Their success is a testament to both their individual talent and the strength of STEM education at Wycombe High.
In addition, the programme features voices from the Lower School, with Year 7 students sharing their enthusiasm for STEM subjects and the impact of their early experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
This special edition of Head’s Up! offers a compelling insight into how Wycombe High nurtures curiosity, confidence and ambition in STEM, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in an increasingly technological world.
