Wycombe High TV launches new lockdown live concert show

Wycombe High TV is about to launch High Notes, a new live music show which will showcase the talents of students to a live audience.

The 60-minute weekly concerts will be livestreamed every Wednesday at 7 pm via Zoom, with the recording made available afterwards on the school’s YouTube channel, Wycombe High TV. The first show will air live, via Zoom at 7pm on Wednesday 13 January.

Music teacher Mr Kidd, who came up with the idea, said: “I am really looking forward to launching this series. We had three brilliant musical events last term and I hope that this series will continue to showcase the dedication and musical talent of the students, whilst bringing some joy to students, staff, family, and friends during this period. We look forward to seeing you there! High Notes is a wonderful way of allowing our students to perform live in front of an audience, despite the new restrictions.”

Headteacher, Mrs Cromie added: “We are a school that likes to look beyond and High Notes is a marvellous antidote to some of the frustrations caused by the new lockdown. As with our new weekly quiz show, ‘High-Q’ the weekly music concerts are a marvellous way of spreading a bit of joy, smiles and laughter, allowing us to hold on to brighter thoughts in these strange times.”
